I am the grandmother of 19 who loves being creative through crafting. I enjoy many, many crafts. Some types of crafting are: sewing, quilting, embroidery, crocheting, knitting, woodworking, glass etching, scrapbooking (both standard and digital. I also like the fact that it not all crafts cost a lot of money. It is amazing how many things you can create using recycled materials.

Cereal Box scrapbook covers

I usually use cereal box cardboard when I want to make a small or mini scrapbook for myself or as a gift.

First I decide on a shape. I have used a football shape, a snow machine shape and a race car shape because I have grandsons who enjoy these sports.

Next I cut four (4) of my chosen shape out of cereal box cardboard using my cricut.

Now I glue 2 of the shapes together for front cover and glue 2 of the shapes together for the back cover. I like to do this to make my covers a little bit stiffer.

Now I am ready to decorate my covers.

Cereal Boxes

How about them cereal boxes they are the perfect thickness for use in scrapbooking, card making and the making of picture frames. They can be cut into the necessary shape with a craft knife or with a Cricut Machine.

Can you think of other uses for cereal boxes?

WOW, does crafting = recycling? Maybe

Let’s see what some of the items are that we throw in the trash that we could use to create something. I will start with a few and when you think of something I have not mentioned please post it.
