I am the grandmother of 19 who loves being creative through crafting. I enjoy many, many crafts. Some types of crafting are: sewing, quilting, embroidery, crocheting, knitting, woodworking, glass etching, scrapbooking (both standard and digital. I also like the fact that it not all crafts cost a lot of money. It is amazing how many things you can create using recycled materials.

Dryer Lint is highly flammable

 Pack cardboard egg cartons with dryer lint and drizzle with melted wax from broken crayons or old candles. Cut the sections apart and use as kindling for your next camp fire.

Materials:

  • Concepts Underglazes for Bisque and Majolica
    • CN 073 Dark Scarlet
    • CN 112 Bright Delft
  • Dinnerware Bisque Designshttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png
    • 24807 Geometrix Large Square Plate 11.25" x 11.25" x 1"
  • Signature Brushes
    • SB 807 No. 6 Fan Glaze
    • SB 812 No. 10 Round
  • Clear Glazes
    • IN 1001 Envision Clear Glaze
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Contact paper
  • 1/4” masking tape (or wider width optional)

Instructions:

  1. Wipe ware with damp sponge to remove any dust.
     
  2. Tape off area where stars go (using tape to define border).
     
  3. Trace and cut out stars from contact paper and stick to area inside tape.
     
  4. Using the No. 10 round brush, apply three coats of CN112 Bright Delft to taped off area (over stars). Let dry between coats. Peel off stars.
     
  5. Create the stripes by using tape. Leave equal space between rows of tape.
     
  6. Using the No. 10 round brush, apply three coats of CN073 Dark Scarlet. Let dry between coats. Peel off stripes.
     
  7. Using No. 6 fan glaze brush apply one coathttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png of IN1001 Clear Glaze to blank spaces on piece. Let dry. Brush on 2nd coat of IN1001 over entire piece.
     
  8. Allow the piece to dry completely. Stilt the piece and fire to shelf cone 06.
